Eclipse.. what eclipse?
The longest eclipse this century went over Japan today, and all I saw was my curtain. I told myself last night that the eclipse would be today, however poop hit the fan at work this morning and from 6am onwards, I was stuck on the phone, staring at my laptop in an already dark part of the apartment. By the time I noticed, I totally missed the eclipse. Oh well, it was cloudy the whole day anyways. I have to admit though, the eclipse looked pretty darn cool from what I saw on the internet....

National Holidays
National holidays... I never know when they really come up because I never get them off. This coming Monday is "Umi no Hi" or the Sea day. This is the day where most people head out to the beach. Unfortunately for me, I'll be working a full day on Monday and actually have to work most of this weekend. Poop has started to pile up and someone just turned on the fan. I hope this weekend doesn't become a disaster. Good news though is that starting next weekend, I'll take a vacation so I can show my little brother more of Japan. I'm hoping to explore more of the west side of Japan. Love me some good ol' Osaka takoyaki!

Narita to Tokyo
I was wrong. Every time someone from back home asked me how close Narita Airport was to downtown Tokyo, I always tell them that Narita isn't really in Tokyo and make the comparison of the distance from Dulles International Airport to Washington D.C. This past weekend, we drove out to Narita airport to pick up my little brother and man it was a LONG drive. I've been to Narita airport multiple times, but I was always on a Limousine bus or express train and I usually slept during the majority of the ride. I had no idea of how far the airport really was. I have changed my comparison and now say that Narita Airport is the BWI Airport to Washington D.C.

I hate playin' with girls
So today I played some ball at the local sports center. This place is only half court and there are usually like 15 people there shooting around. After like 40 minutes of shooting around and trying to avoid getting hit by oncoming balls I got restless so in my bad Japanese, I made the effort and asked people if they wanted to play a half court game. You know something like like 3 on 3 or 4 on 4. Everyone agreed to my suggestion. Of course the crazy foreigner is the bridge to getting other Japanese people to play with each other. Anyways, one of the people who agreed was this high school girl. While we were shooting around, I noticed that she made the majority of her shots, while yours truly was building a house with my bricks. We picked teams and she ended up on teh opposite team of me. I had these two guys who were in high school and look like they were ballers. Key words, "Looked like". Well, the chick schooled everyone on my team. Her passing was on point and she made all her open shots. The guy who was on her, didn't take her seriously, so I tried to guard her. Granted, I had to adjust my defense because I didn't want press up on her like I do with the other guys, because then I would be arrested for improper touching. It didn't matter because she embarrassed me and I had to call the fire department because I got burned. All I could do was stand there, motionless as her team mates were giving each other high fives and mines thinking I should go back home. This always happens to me, every time a girl comes on the court and I end up guarding her, she does like AIG and takes full advantage of me. Oh well.. sometimes you win.. most times you lose. C'est la vie.

Drugged up
After the initial antibiotics I received from the doctor, my coughing has yet to calm down. I visited the doctor again and he gave me an additional 2 weeks worth of medication. I have like 4 bags of medicine. I have to take a combination of the 4 bags 3 times a day and inhale this new type of drug twice a day. Man, I've never taken so much medicine. I feel like I've skipped being an adult and am now a senior citizen. I've been on this new meds for a couple of days now, but I'm still coughing up hairballs. Fun times..

Wait.. I'm not in D.C. anymore..
so why do I hear fighter jets flying around outside... Hopefully it is the Japanese or US military joy riding and not some preparation for an upcoming missile defense.. because that would suck...
